    From the centre of Obergurgl, follow the road to the Hohe Mut gondola station and enjoy the ascent up to 2,670 m above sea level. Behind the Hohe Mut Alm you hike along the narrow path. Follow the serpentines downhill until you reach the water reservoir. From there you can already see the Schönwies hut. It then leads into the valley past a small chapel, climbs up to the old customs hut and leads over the saddle to the Langtalereckhütte. The Piccard bridge leads over the remains of the Gurgler Ferners glacier tongue. Below the Ramolhaus, follow the Schäferweg towards the valley floor. Almost at the end of the hike, you hike down the steep grassy slopes until you reach the asphalt road. From there you hike back to the village center of Gurgl.

    Public transport

    Travel safe and comfortable with the train to the Ötztal Bahnhof train station. Last stop and exit point is the train station Ötztal Bahnhof. Afterwards you can travel smoothly and quick with the public transport or our local taxi companies through the valley to your desired destination.     The car drive to the Ötztal valley. Situated in Tirol, the Ötztal valley set off in southerly direction and is the longest side valley in the Eastern Alps. The journey with the car leads you through the Inntal valley to the entrance of the valley and further on through the valley. Among the toll motorways you can also use the countryroads.
